What every dancer should know

Auditions are free

Submitting an audition video costs nothing. A nominal competition fee applies only to dancers who are selected, and is confirmed with the selection result.

Cash prizes for winners

Winning dancers in each category receive a cash prize.

Judged by an external panel

Entries are assessed by independent judges invited from outside Divyam, so every dancer is placed on merit alone.

How it works

Results On or before 10 October 2026 — everyone hears back, selected or not.

Results announced

We contact every entrant with the outcome by 10 October 2026. Selected dancers go through to the competition round.

Finalists perform at Balaprathibha on 15 November 2026 at Sri Venkateshwara Temple.

Audition requirements

Audition rules & guidelines

Please review the submission requirements carefully before preparing your 3-minute audition video and submitting its link.

A 3-minute audition video is required for all Solo and Group entries.
Videos must be submitted on or before 25 September 2026.
Open to Bharatanatyam dancers aged 7–13.
There is no charge to audition. A nominal fee applies to selected participants.
Groups must have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 dancers.
The video must be a single continuous recording with no cuts or editing.
The dancer's full body must remain visible throughout; for groups, all dancers must be clearly visible.
Record with clear audio in a well-lit space.
Dancers may perform a Bharatanatyam piece of their choice.
Practice attire is fine; full costume is not required.
Selection is based on technique, rhythm, expression, stage presence, and overall presentation.
Submission of an audition video does not guarantee selection. Final selections are communicated after review.

Competition policies

If your dancer is selected

These apply from the October round onwards. Please read them before entering, so nothing comes as a surprise later.

The October competition round is held in person. Video entry is not accepted at that stage.
The final performance must not exceed 5 minutes.
Entries are assessed by an independent external panel, and the judges' decision is final.
No special stage or audio arrangements can be provided. Please choose a piece that works with the standard stage and sound setup.
Finalists share their performance music through Google Drive, named <dancer name>_<item name>.<ext> — for example Meera Nair_Thillana.mp3 — so every track can be matched to the right dancer on the day.
